The Ortovox DIRACT RESCUE SET is a safety pack featuring innovative, lightweight, and highly intuitive equipment to enhance effectiveness in high-stress situations.
This three-antenna avalanche transceiver boasts a stable display upon first reception, reducing stress in emergencies and enabling quicker searches. It’s equipped with patented Smart Antenna Technology, which analyzes the unit’s position in an avalanche and automatically switches to the best transmission antenna. This feature potentially doubles the range and accelerates discovery. Furthermore, its simple and logical design makes it particularly user-friendly and intuitive. A single button quickly marks victims or switches to standby mode, while an automatic shift from search/standby to transmission mode in case of a secondary avalanche ensures comprehensive searcher protection. The large, fully graphical screen remains legible in extreme lighting conditions, offering intuitive, stress-reducing guidance with clear instructions and real-time 360-degree display.
Weighing just 210 grams, the DVA is lightweight and comfortable to hold in hand or glove, thanks to rubber grip zones, and easily fits in a trouser pocket without needing the Quick Access Carry feature, which automatically releases the DVA upon opening. Additionally, it includes an integrated RECCO reflector in its carrying system, providing an extra backup option for easy retrieval, and features a special low-temperature rechargeable battery that is long-lasting and environmentally friendly.
The pack also contains an ALU 240 probe, weighing only 200 grams. This probe is quickly deployable with a quick-release buckle and Quick-Lock tensioning system, and its tension is easily adjustable via an optimized adjustment screw. The probe’s large tip, significantly wider than its segments, ensures better penetration. Its optimized segments make it backpack-friendly and feature an easy-to-read depth indicator.
Completing this safety package is the BADGER, an extremely lightweight aluminum shovel. It incorporates innovative materials and modern manufacturing processes with strategically designed holes in the shovel blade. The ergonomic hybrid handle ensures maximum power transmission. Its 2.5-liter scoop has a large blade volume, achieving full stiffness due to a rigid construction with a prominent central ridge and raised side cheeks. The blade’s upper edge and a centering aid on the shaft holder enable swift assembly.
