Lightweight ice axe from Petzl designed for snow travel and glacier walking.
Light and with good performance, with careful design and finishes, the Glacier ice axe offers high-quality anchoring in hard snow and ice, thanks to a blade of very high-quality tempered steel, identical to the blades of traction ice axes, which ensures secure anchoring and great durability. The steel shovel is very resistant, and its edge design allows for efficiently carving steps. The top of the blade offers a very good grip for the hand.
It is equipped with a 7075 anodized aluminum handle with a machined grip area to provide excellent hold when used as a traction ice axe. A stainless steel spike ensures very good penetration in hard snow. The head and the spike are equipped with holes that allow a carabiner or sling to be passed through for possible maneuvers.
Certified under standards CE EN 13089:2015 + A1:2015 and UIAA-152: Ice axe with type 1 handle (>0.6 kN resistance, >2.5 kN traction) and type 1 blade (<42 Nm bending). Approximate weight of 350 grams. Length 50cm.
